Welcome to Otonga Shotokan Karate

At Otonga Shotokan Karate Club, we promote traditional Shotokan Karate training for everyone. Karate, the martial art of empty hand, is a great physical and mental discipline for people of all ages and abilities. Our training focuses on basic techniques which include kihon, kata & kumite that are easy to learn, and with consistent practice, become easier to perform over time.

"The ultimate aim of the art of karate lies not in victory or defeat, but in the perfection of the character of its participant." Gichin Funakoshi, founder of Karate.

Otonga Shotokan Karate has formed a strong alliance with Counties Shotokan Karate, a traditional karate organisation founded by Sensei Ray Irving.
